Kiely Rodni was last seen on August 6 at a high school farewell celebration in Truckee, northeast of Sacramento. Her cellphone stopped working after she and the car disappeared around 12:30 a.m.
There were 100 juveniles and young individuals at the party. The search for Rodni lasted more than two weeks. It included an aerial search covering an 80-mile radius and a dive team from the Placer County Sheriff’s Office searching the lake on Thursday.
Her name was added to the FBI’s missing person database after five days of searching for her after she went missing. After weeks of search, authorities announced on Sunday night that a car containing human remains had been found in a lake in California. The place is not far from the last known location of missing Kiely, reports Independent Co.
A private group of divers called Adventures With Purpose reported on Sunday afternoon in Prosser Lake, some 35 miles west of Reno, Nevada, that they had found the silver 2013 Honda CRV, which was upside down 14 feet underwater in the lake and had a human remains.
The law enforcement officers have yet to identify the victim officially. Still, it is believed to be that of Kiely since the vehicle has the same number plate as that of a Californian teenager.
Besides, her boyfriend, Jagger Westfall, posted a heartbreaking video on his Instagram. He expressed his love for her and how he had promised that he would be by her side until the end.
Her 18-year-old partner had mentioned earlier that he had texted her to be safe and not to do anything stupid before she went to the party.

The volunteer group said they had notified the parents of the missing Kiley Rodni about their discovery of her car with the human remains inside. The youngster’s mother, Lindsey Rodni-Nieman, had said that her daughter had texted her around 11.30 on the night she disappeared.
She had informed her mom that she would leave the party in 45 minutes. It would have taken her around 25-30 minutes to get home. Rodni also texted her mom when she was about to leave the party. She had messaged her around 12:15 am, saying that she was leaving and coming home.
However, when Lindsey saw the text the following day, she realized that her daughter had not returned home. On the other hand, her father, Daniel Rodni, has not appeared in the media.
