He was brutally beaten, stabbed four times, and strangled to death. Police investigation suggests that he was first attacked in his garage and dumped where his body was found.

Initially, investigators found two men who were guilty of the crime. They were Torsten Trabert and John Ryan. Then, however, there were more twists in the plot.
Robyn Lindholm, a 40 years old woman who was an exotic dancer, used to be Wayne’s partner. However, after they two split up, Robyn wanted half of Wayne’s rural property. Reports say that they bought the property together.
As a result, she asked Torsten, a man she was dating, to kill her ex-boyfriend. The camera caught their crime. Surveillance footage linked all of them to the murder.
In 2015, Robyn pleaded guilty to Wayne’s murder.

Robyn, the mastermind, was sentenced to 25 years in prison, and the other two received the longest sentence. Moreover, the one murder case led the police to find the suspect for another one.
Robyn’s ex-boyfriend, George Templeton, died in mystery. According to sources, authorities believed that she may have taken the help of Wayne and another man who helped her kill him.
The purpose of the murder is suspected to be with her dream of living with Wayne. However, she denied the allegations when the case reopened, and she stood for the trial.
