Acclaimed Gospel singer Osinachi Nwachukwu passed away on April 8, 2022. She is known for songs like God Of Power and The Cry. The singer frequently performed songs in the Igbo language, which is spoken in southeast Nigeria.

On suspicion of being involved in her death, Osinachi Nwachukwu’s husband has been the subject of the investigation.
Osinachi’s husband, Peter Nwachukwu had testified in the courts on June 21, 2022. Her family clearly claims that the singer died from Peter’s beating. Among the accuser, Osinachi’s twin sister, Aderonke Imana was the third witness in the courts. She claims that the medical reports of the singer do not show her suffering from cancer or any ailments.
A further statement from Osinachi’s family claims that Peter used to beat her with a mopstick. He also frequently called her a thief or “ashawo” (prostitute).
According to Aderonke Imana, Osinachi had finished a stage program and was given an honorarium (about N40,000). Her husband had discovered the money in her purse and called her a thief.
Peter will face 23 counts of charges and will be culpable of homicide if the courts find him guilty. The court has also announced that until then he will be kept up in the Kuje prison.

Nwachukwu’s dead body was brought to her hometown in the Amakpoke Umuaku community in Abia State for burial on June 15, 2022. She was buried surrounded by thousands of her fans. In a published photo, the singer’s mother and sister are clearly seen crying in front of the burial.
