Sister Josephine Rosenthal Wikipedia

The Benedictine nunnery Hohenwart Monastery was situated in Hohenwart, Bavaria, Germany. The monastery was utterly cut off from the nearby communities and villages due to its position, so when one of the nuns became pregnant, it was regarded as a heavenly occurrence and a favorable sign.

That nun was Sister Josephine Rosenthal, and in 1742, she became pregnant. She was born in the nunnery and had only ever interacted with the abbot. After a checkup, it was determined that she was still a virgin and had no business being pregnant though she was.

Before Josephine’s account reached the Abbot and she was taken before the council of Benedict, she carried the child for six months. There, she was inspected again and found that she was a virgin. She was a virgin who had experienced an immaculate conception.

Despite all efforts to stop it, the public learned about Sister Josephine Rosenthal. Father Aaric finally concluded that the virgin birth was a positive indicator. He arranged for Josephine to be transferred from the nunnery to a chapel so she might receive prayers.

Josephine Rosenthal Daughter Maria Rosenthal Story

Josephine gave birth to a girl just eight months after the immaculate pregnancy, but she passed away from blood loss shortly after. Despite being underweight at birth, the infant recovered quickly and was named Maria.

While the baby was joyfully greeted by the nuns, who were overjoyed, the council of Benedict was not as happy. An immaculately conceived female was attested and derided.

Some believed Josephine to be the representative of Christ’s second arrival. However, a female absolutely shattered this notion.

It was requested that Abbot Aaric inform his congregation of the infant’s death. The lie saddened him, but he had to accept it.

The nuns rejected the Benedict council’s judgment. They raised the girl as a nun while keeping her with them. Despite being informed of her passing, many individuals realized it was a lie. Mary drew a sizable crowd and even developed a devoted fan base.

The locals viewed her as inspirational, and her simple presence inspired other Benedict communities to change.

Of course, she was condemned by the upper levels of the church. Although their churches were thriving because of her, they condemned her worship of her as heresy.

Mary Rosenthal continued to compose two treatises throughout her life, but only a portion of them has survived. The condemnation of women and original sin were topics covered in that treatise. She begged the church to make changes, but nothing was ever done.

Mary fell unwell around the time of her 33rd birthday. Her condition was unknown to doctors, but her devotees thought that her passing would herald the second passing of the holy progeny. She would pass away at her age, just as Christ had.

Mary Rosenthal inspired ideas of feminism and the reclamation of respect. Although she had strengthened the neighborhood, the church resisted her at every turn. After she passed away, people rebelled against the church and started to worship and idolize her remains.

Being a nun, neither Josephine Rosenthal nor her daughter had any kind of relationship with any man. Overall, the analysis of Maria’s embalmed skull reveals that both mother and daughter were hermaphrodites and prepared to conceive and give birth to the child.

They were ultimately killed by the mother and girl’s unusual inherited traits. It was discovered that Maria was also pregnant at the time of her death.

Her blood and skin were examined in 1905, after her death, and it was discovered that she had particular genetic characteristics. These characteristics weren’t assigned to an uncommon lineage until the mid-1950s.

As it turned out, Mary and her mother, Josephine, were both hermaphrodites with the capacity for spontaneous conception and childbirth. An illness that will eventually kill them simultaneously.

Even though the church is no longer standing, numerous items are still present, including the box containing Maria’s skull, lock of hair, blood vial, treatise, and her personal rosary.
