The mysterious series Whitstable Pearl is back with its second season, and the season was filmed in Kent during the pandemic.
The show calls Acorn TV its home turf and recently announced the premiere date for the second two of the drama’s first appearance on November 28.
With Frances Barber playing Mr. Holmes, Pearl’s spitfire mother, and Rohan Nedd, played by Harry Wild, a humorous yet caring son, reprising their roles, we have high hopes for what is to come.
But some new faces are to enter, with Robert Webb as Peep Show, Pearl’s boyfriend, and Emily Head portraying Mike’s new outgoing, sunny girlfriend.
Where Was Whitstable Pearl Season 2 Filmed?
According to Kent Event Center, the drama riddle series Whitstable Pearl starring Kerry God was filmed in Kent during the pandemic.
Despite the increasing cases, the cast and crew worked with perseverance and were granted the permit in 2020.
The locations have remained confined to Whitstable, a town on the north coast of Kent in Southern England. With a recognizable background from local favorites like the Whitstable Harbour, Whitstable West Beach, Whitstable Yacht Club, and Tankerton Beach, the natives have found their representation endearing.
As much of the set got placed outdoors, they took in the natural scenery of the oyster center town with features of other local businesses within the town center.
Around October, the production company visited The Kent Event Centre in Detling and transformed the single conference center into a restaurant owned by the protagonist. The comfortable stay was their home base for several weeks, with primary scenes occurring in the seafood hub.
Besides, The Kent Event Centre promises a versatile filming location, as the trusted town has leveled indoor and outdoor space.
The Clive Emson Conference Centre alone serves as a 1,700-meter square space that is adaptable and self-contained with cabling, multiple cargo doors, and a large commercial kitchen.
The upcoming seasons will probably have similar backdrops as the story continues.
Did The Cast Like Filming In Whitstable?
The cast does not have many complaints when asking about their filming locations, with Frances Barber, who plays Dolly, calling it a gorgeous place. She had been in the area before her schedule as she had visited for a short film.
Being a Londoner, it was rare to hear the sea as she became genuinely happy to return to the slow-paced lifestyle.
Meanwhile, director David Caffrey recalled being embarrassed when showing off their riches. The people are industrial factory workers who pay no mind to fashion or shiny cars as their wealth lies in the beautiful landscape.
The Isle of Sheppey and neighboring Essex proved as the perfect atmosphere they were searching for.
