Sir Thomas Jones Woodward OBE (born 7 June 1940), known professionally as Tom Jones, is a Welsh singer. His career began with a string of top-ten hits in the mid-1960s. He has toured regularly, with appearances in Las Vegas (1967–2011). Jones’s voice has been described by AllMusic as a “full-throated, robust baritone”.
The Sex Bomb hitmaker, who is currently walking with a stick, went on to add he finds it easier to sit down and sing as he awaits a hip replacement operation. “I can do about four songs… and I can walk on [stage],” Sir Tom began.
Singing legend and The Voice star Sir Tom Jones recently opened up about growing up with dyslexia. Speaking on BBC Radio 2 last week, Sir Tom revealed that he was often told that he was ‘lazy’ when he was at school and was consistently being told that he needed to ‘try harder.
