Ricky Martin is a well-known singer and actor who is regarded as one of the greatest Latin singers of all time.
He is well-known for his chic, upbeat brand of pop. In his teen years, Martin first rose to stardom as the star performer of the well-known boy band Menudo.
He also started acting, receiving accolades from the Mexican film industry and playing Miguel Morez, a bartender in the American serial opera General Hospital.
While his 1998 solo album Vuelve earned him a Grammy, it was his 1999 English-language album Ricky Martin that catapulted him to stardom.
The album, which topped the Billboard 200 and sold more than 15 million copies worldwide, was helped by the hits “Livin’ La Vida Loca” and “She’s All I Ever Had.”
Martin was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on December 24, 1971. He participated in school plays and the chorus as a young child.
He started appearing in television ads when he was six years old. Soon after, he enrolled in expert singing and acting courses, which prepared him for his Menudo tryouts.
