Teenage Head Founder Murder
A founding member of Teenage Head in 1975 was discovered dead on Sunday in his Cathartine Street South apartment in downtown Hamilton. The police found his body.
His body was discovered after a 911 call from a Hamilton Spectator staff member requested a wellness check in response to a series of emails from two accounts in the name of Jonathan Lewis-son Gord claiming Gord was dead. The messages started around 8 p.m. Saturday and lasted until Sunday morning.
Detectives say they are not looking for any more suspects because they have already apprehended one person linked to the deceased.
The identification of the deceased is still pending due to an ongoing autopsy. But, during a press conference on Monday, Sarah Beck stated that investigators believe the victim and accused were father and son.
Is The Suspect Jonathan Lewis Arrested?
Johnny, his 41-year-old son, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. According to the police, no other suspects are being sought now.
According to The Spectator, one of its employees called 911 to report suspicious emails sent to their newsroom on Saturday and Sunday by a man named Jonathan Lewis, who is thought to be the musician’s son.
As per the newspaper, the emails suggested that Gord Lewis was deceased, prompting the Spectator staffer to call the police, who then conducted a wellness check.
Hamilton police confirmed Monday that they discovered a deceased male in his 60s during that check. Still, that identification of the victim has yet to be made due to the body’s “level of decomposition.”
Investigators have spoken with relatives of the apartment’s occupant, and they are aware of the continuing inquiry, according to the police.
