John Leslie was a TV presenter at his peak in the early 2000s which changed overnight when he got accused of raping a woman. This was, however, a misunderstanding and the fake media trail boosted it in a time when there were no social media.
He had briefly dated Ulrika Jonsson, who was a weather reporter at that time. She revealed in an autobiography ‘Honest’ that she’d been raped by a TV presenter refusing to reveal his identity.
Now, the connecting of dots happened and Matthew Wright named him baselessly on the grounds of some similarity. Later on, the writer herself came out to clear his image but the damage had been done. This has been considered the beginning of the man’s downfall.
John Leslie Was Accused of Sexual Assault And Substance Abuse
After he was identified wrongly as his ex’s rapist, several women came forward alleging assault. In 2003, a woman came forward and accused him but when he faced the trial, the judge asked him to leave the court without any stain on his character. Apparently, new evidence presented in the court proved him innocent.
He then got into trouble regarding cocaine use. In 2008, another woman alleged him of raping her but this time, the TV star had given up. He said that he’d lost everything he had, state of mind, his income, house, sanity, literally everything. having said this, he still denied every allegation against him.
Now the star is away from the dirty politics of the media and tabloids. He started his own show on the radio some time back. For a brief moment, he also DJed in a nightclub and is probably leading a peaceful life in 2022.
