Vanessa Guillen fiance Juan Cruz is still waiting for the answers for the sudden disappearance of his love followed by her demise.
The Fort Hood shoulder stopped sending texts and responding to calls from her family and recently engaged fiance after 22 April 2020. The silence of Vanessa led to a massive uproar and demonstration, “find Vanessa Guillen” outside of Fort Hood Military camp in Texas.
The 20-year-old Guillen vanished from a Texas Army base all of a sudden and was discovered dead. She was found close to the Leon River after almost two months. According to the information she shared with her mother, she was sexually harassed at the Fort Hood base.
Vanessa was allegedly killed by an outranking specialist, 20-year-old Aaron Robinson. The authorities successfully got hold of Robinson, but he escaped and then killed himself before answering the queries.
Juan Cruz gave a special interview to ABC NEWS about her gorgeous to-be wife, Vanessa Guillen, in a Hispanic tone with tears in his eyes and grief in his heart.
What has changed until then? Where is Juan Cruz? Let’s discuss his whereabouts amid the ‘I Am Vanessa Guillen’ Netflix Documentary release.
Who Is Vanessa Guillen’s Fiance Juan Cruz?
Juan Cruz was the long-term boyfriend and fiance of military personnel Vanessa Guillen. She was recently engaged to him just before she joined the military. The boyfriend-turned-fiance had plans to tie the knot on December 2020.
Juan could never admit that somebody could go missing from the most secure place, Fort Hood United States Army Post. Vanessa was happy to be stationed just three hours drive from her home. She often came back home to meet her fiance and family whenever possible. But, things went cold.
According to the interview published on ABC 20/20, Juan could still vividly remember the last kiss from his beloved Vanessa when she left for the base early in the morning. He met Guillen just three days before she went missing.
Vanessa and Juan met at a Quinceanera party for a 15-year-old. As soon as he laid eyes on her, he knew she was the one. They danced together all night and rejoiced in their first meeting as teenagers.
They were officially engaged on March 2020 with the family’s blessing but she went missing in April. Juan, Vanessa’s sister Mayra, and mom drove to Fort Hood to know about her whereabouts after she stopped responding to numerous calls and text messages. Vanessa was found bludgeoned to death on 30 June after 69 days.
Where Is Juan Cruz Now?
According to People, Juan Cruz currently lives in Texas with the memories of his fiance Vanessa Guillen. He is involved with the ‘I Am Vanessa Guillen Foundation’ with Mayra.
On 17th November 2022, Juan will be featured in the upcoming Netflix documentary, ‘I Am Vanessa Guillen.’ With the traces of stories, Cruz is still close with the late Guillen’s family and has given interviews to many news channels.
He was first seen in an exclusive interview with 20/20 expressing his distress and untangled love life. Juan said, “She’s my hero.” The same interview shed light on the claims of two soldiers from Vanessa’s unit, Tay and Cj, to have known about the sexual harassment she endured.
The soldiers talked openly about their exchange with Spc. Aaron Robinson, who killed Vanessa. Aaron is the same officer who worked with Vanessa in the armaments room when she vanished.
According to a federal complaint, Robinson killed Specialist Guillen at Fort Hood. He tried to dismember and burn her remains with his girlfriend. The suspect shot himself in the head with a gun as the authorities approached him.
