The trailer starts with Lexi, played by Emily Alatalo, going to meet her parents, the king and queen of Santovia. After meeting them, her parents tell her that after living her life generally for years, she will have to resume her life as a princess again. Noah follows the princess, two turn out to be a boyfriend her parents hired.
The main character is asked to go on dates with possible suitors for the Royal Gala and goes on dates with two people that do not work out. She and the bodyguard meet her best friend, who knows nothing about who she is and has been lying for the last ten years. Lexi begins to get close to Noah over time.

The storyline of the movie The Princess and the Bodyguard revolves around the life of Lexi. The love interest of the main character is Noah.
The film starts with Emily Alatalo as Lexi visits her parents, the king, and queen, on her 35th birthday. King Alfred and his wife, Queen Charlotte, tell their daughter that she must give up the everyday life that she has been living for a long time and return to the palace and take the place of a royal princess.
Lexi initially rejects the idea and states that she wants to have her life as an ordinary girl in the city. However, she is given two weeks to come to terms and will have to return and reveal her identity to her best friend, whom she has been lying to for about ten years or so. She also has to find a suitable match for the royal gala as it is the tradition to bring a date to the gala.
The gala is a ceremony to reveal to the world who she is and she goes on dates to find a suitor with whom she is compatible. She has all these activities two do in such a short time, plus she is watched by a bodyguard hired by her parents.
The bodyguard, Noah, is infuriating to deal with but is exceptionally handsome. He follows her on all the dates she has with the possible suitors for the gala. Lexi and Noah spend so much of their time together that after some fights and bonding, such as running together, meditating and building clay objects, they grow close to one another.
