Jake Koehler Trip In Titan Submersible
Jake, a passenger on the Titan submarine just days before its tragic voyage, thinks he may have perished if severe weather had kept the craft from reaching the ocean floor.
Koehler has 13.5 million YouTube subscribers and documented his entire time with OceanGate Expeditions on “Mission 3.”
Mission 5, the submersible’s penultimate voyage, took place last Sunday. The vessel lost communication with the tour operator two hours into the two-hour drop to the Titanic debris.
Debris from the submersible was discovered on Thursday local time, confirming fears that it had a catastrophic implosion around the time it lost contact, killing all five occupants.
In his 26-minute movie, Jake depicts boarding a giant ship with his partner Kyndall for the nine-day adventure.
French oceanographer Paul-Henri Nargeolet, who perished in the catastrophe, was lodging in a cabin beside them.
They tried to “wait it out” for several days on the surface above when the weather became too bad for the dive as they got closer to the Titanic wreck.
