Sven Wedemeyer (født 1975) er en tysk astrofysiker som jobber ved Universitetet i Oslo.

Han har mastergrad i 1999 og doktorgrad i 2003 fra Universitetet i Kiel. Så var han tre år ved Universitetet i Freiburg før han fikk jobb på Universitetet i Oslo som forsker og lærer ved Institutt for teoretisk astrofysikk. Wedemeyer forsker på solen, andre stjerner og i mindre grad eksoplaneter. Hans arbeide med soltornadoer har vært publisert i det britiske forskerbladet Nature og beskrivet i boken Norske forskningsbragder. I 2015 blir han tildelt en Consolidator Grant fra det europeiske forskningsrådet (ERC) for å observere solen med den Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA).
Wedemeyer er et styremedlem (Principal Investigator) av Rosseland Centre for Solar Physics som er et Senter for fremragende forskning med oppstart i 2017. Han ble førsteamanuensis i 2018.
