Early Life: Mike Love was born on March 15, 1941 in Hawthorne, California. Love grew up spending time with his uncle, Murry Wilson, and singing with the Wilson family. Murry Wilson was the father of future Beach Boys band members Brian, Dennis and Carl Wilson.

Mike would go on to become part of the immensely popular band, The Beach Boys. He sang lead vocals on many of their early hits, including “Surfin’ Safari”, “Surfin’ USA”, “Shut Down”, “Dance, Dance, Dance”, and “California Girls”. He also co-wrote most of their songs with Brian Wilson. He was known for his nasal vocal tone and for his interest and devotion to Transcendental Meditation.
