Slick Rick’s net worth, biography, fact, career, awards and life story

Slick Rick Net Worth: Slick Rick is an English rapper who has a net worth of $1 million. Born Richard Martin Lloyd Walters on January 14, 1965, in London, England, he is the rap singer to herald and epitomize the pimpster attitude of many rappers during the late ’80s and early ’90s (the Golden Age of hip hop) with gold chains, his trademark eye-patch and misogynistic recordings. Favorably known as Rick the Ruler and Ricky Dee, he started his career late in 1983. In 1988, he released his debut album, The Great Adventures of Slick Rick, which spawned the hit tracks Treat Her like a Prostitute and If I’m Not Your Lover, the latter becoming #2 in 1989. The same year, another of his singles titled Children’s Story hit the R&B charts climbing at the #5 position. However, Slick Rick was soon arrested after shooting at his cousin, who allegedly harassed Rick’s mother. Prior to being sentenced to five-years in prison, he released the album The Ruler’s Back, which included Rick’s confession track I Shouldn’t Have Done It. His subsequent releases include the albums: Behind Bars (1994) and The Art of Storytelling (1999), both of which hit the Billboard 200 and R&B/Hip-Hop charts. The first brought forth two hits, Behind Bars & Sittin’ In My Car, while the second gave rise to the Street Talkin single. A Grammy-nominee, Slick Rick has produced music that was often sampled and interpolated by other artists such as TLC, Black Star, The Notorious B.I.G., Snoop Dogg, and Color Me Badd. While his habit of using narrative in his raps earned him the tag “hip hop’s greatest storyteller.”
