Hyla Koertzen was the wife of international cricket umpire Rudi Koertzen.
Hyla Koertzen and Rudi Koertzen married for a couple of years and were together until his death.
The pair had four children; two daughters and two sons.
Although Hyla’s name was revealed in an interview by her husband Rudi, her details are under wraps.
“My wife [Hyla] has been everything. While I have been travelling she has been the housewife, the maid, the gardener, if we are doing renovations to the house she will take charge and make all the arrangements and I’m very thankful to her,” Rudi Koertzen said.
Rudolf Eric Koertzen was an international cricket umpire.
Koertzen was born in Knysna in the Western Cape, South Africa.
A cricket enthusiast since his youth, he played league cricket while working as a clerk for South African Railways. He became an umpire in 1981.
Rudi Koertzen died in a car accident near Riversdale on August 9, 2022, at age 73, while driving back from a golfing weekend in Cape Town to his family home in Despatch, Eastern Cape.
