According to Dallas police, a witness went to check on the victim after he stopped answering phone calls, discovered him injured, and called for help, according to a preliminary investigation.

Du’vonta Lampkin was a member of the Oklahoma Sooners from 2015 to 2017, appearing in 17 games with two starts. In 2017, he had 22 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss, and he went pro following that season.
