Professional bassist who played for the Filipino rock bands The Dawn and Wolfgang, Mon Legaspi, passed away on October 3, 2022. He was aged 54.
Legaspi had suffered from a cardiac arrest which led to his death.
His death was announced by the group, The Dawn, on social media.
“It is with deep, deep sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our brother Mon Legaspi. He joined our Creator earlier tonight due to cardiac arrest,” the band’s statement read. “Mon fought hard in the ICU and we are utterly heartbroken at the loss of a supremely professional musician, and a dear friend”, the group wrote.
Legaspi’s fans and even his ex wife, radio presenter Thelma Bowlen, expressed their condition to the Legaspi family.
Legaspi has been in the Wolfgang rock band since 1992, and The Dawn,between 2002 – 2005.
He is known for the songs Salamat (2000), Halik Ni Hudas (2000), Mata Ng Diyos (1996) and isang Bangka The Story of The Dawn: The Ultimate OP.
