Marie Newman is an American politician and marketing consultant. She is famous for being on the ballot for a general election to the U.S. House to represent Illinois 3rd Congressional District occurring on November 3, 2020.

She attended Carl Sandburg High School. After attending Marquette University for a year and a half, she transferred to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree. She won the election in her district to the United States House of Representatives as the Democratic nominee, following her narrow victory against incumbent Dan Lipinski in the 2020 primary election.

She had lost to Lipinski in the Democratic primary for the sane seat in 2018. Throughout her career, she worked in advertising, consulting, and nonprofit advocacy.
