Latocha Scott, Xscape band member and singer-songwriter, and Sister Tamika Scott have been feuding, leading to band’s disagreement.
The Xscape debate is far from over, as some of the ladies reveal what is behind the group’s disagreement. And it could not be between Kandi and LaTocha, but between the two sisters, LaTocha and Tamika.
The R&B group Xscape was destined for stardom on reality television. The band has always been a source of controversy, and its comeback in the last 10 years has been anything but smooth. The group has utilized this to enhance song streaming, sell more tickets, and promote television shows.
However, there were a lot of spillovers, and some are calling the latest social media drama “messy.” The women were increasingly divided as the pressure mounted.
Xscape first broke up in the 1990s, and since that time, Tiny and Kandi have become well-known musicians and television actors, while Latocha and Tamika, two sisters, have floated in the public eye. Because of Tiny and Kandi’s ongoing success, the gang has come together.
Latocha Scott and Sister Tamika Scott’s Family Drama Explained
Latocha Scott is no longer on talking terms with her sister Tamika Scott. The singer took to social media to vent her anger and disappointment.
On Wednesday evening, Latocha Scott took to social media to vent about her messy dispute with Xscape. The feud became public when LaTocha claimed that she “didn’t get the memo” concerning the group’s blue carpet attire for the Soul Train Awards, where they accepted the Lady of Soul Award.
LaTocha has now apologized to her followers and posted a lengthy statement on her Instagram page in which she speaks her truth.
The singer then explained why she changed stylists, why she no longer communicates with her sister Tamika Scott, and how a threat made against her husband, Rocky Bivens prompted her to cancel the next Xscape tour.
Her “sisters” have since reacted, and the situation is now getting worse by the second. By uploading a meme with the caption “Can’t even enjoy our moment,” Tiny addressed the drama that had overshadowed their recent Soul Train Lady of Soul Honor.
Both Kandi and Tamika commented “Amen” in response, co-signing the statement.
After that, LaTocha’s blood sister Tamika responded to a fan’s remark to clarify that she was supporting Kandi and Tiny because they were “correct” and she was sick of LaTocha’s drama and immaturity.
The process then got underway. LaTocha returned to her Instagram stories to spill the tea, dispel rumors about her absence from the group at the moment, and address the conflict between her and her sister.
Meanwhile, the girls appeared to take further potshots at Tocha by posting videos of them practicing for forthcoming performances that will only feature the trio and demonstrating how they reallocated Tocha’s vocals and song portions around.
Tamika Scott is Married to Husband Darnell Winston
Tamika Scott has been married to her husband, Darnell Wintson, for over 18 years now. Previously, she turned to Instagram to express her connection with her husband, posting about how he was her strength.
In November 2018, Tamika and Darnell reaffirmed their vows to each other after 14 years of marriage. Kandi Burruss and LaTocha Scott, two of the three “Xscape” members, were present for the celebration.
Despite not being present for the vow renewal, Tameka ‘Tiny’ Harris, the final member of the wildly successful R&B group, offered her congrats in an Instagram comment.
The couple is privileged to have three kids as a result of their longtime successful marriage. Scott gave birth to her first daughter, O’shun Reney, in 1994. Later, the couple welcomed their second daughter, Taniyah Birney, in 1999, and their youngest daughter, Armani, was born in 2013.
Moreover, Scott’s now 28-year-old daughter O’shun married her high school lover Aaron. The mother of three is extremely close to her kids, and she previously revealed her oldest daughter’s love story on Instagram.
When O’shun and Aaron had Aveyah as their first child in 2018, Scott was blessed to become a grandmom. Two years later, in 2020, the couple had a second daughter.
Scott admitted that she previously did not want her daughter to follow in her footsteps since she understood how difficult the job was during a 2019 interview on Stardom 100 Radio.
She thought about the brilliance of Niyah, though, and changed her mind. Scott also mentioned that she kept an eye on her daughter to prevent Niyah from repeating her previous mistakes.
