Katie Meyer, a 22-year-old Stanford University standout soccer player, was discovered dead in her dorm room on Tuesday.
Katie Meyer, a goalie for the women’s soccer team who majored in international relations and minored in history, was the student found deceased in a residential building the day before, according to school officials.
The cause of death has not been disclosed, however, police have stated that there was no threat to anyone else on campus and that Meyer’s death is not being investigated as suspicious.
Meyer, a native of Newbury Park, California, rose to national prominence in 2019 after making two clutch saves to help the Cardinals win their third NCAA title.
