John Ross biography

John Ross is the first of six children born to John Ross Jr. and Dayna Mitchell. Addressed fully as John Ellis Ross III, he was born on November 27, 1994 in Long Beach, California.

His involvement in American football dates back as far as 2001, at the age of 7 he once played the game at his grandmother’s yard and overwhelmed everyone to her amazement and excitement when his mother decided to pursue a career in the sport to move. John was eventually linked to Snoop Dogg Youth Football where his skills were further developed and honed.

Raised in California, the boy received his high school education from Jordan High School, where he served as a wide receiver and optional corner kick. He also ran courses at school which aided his pace while playing the grid game. At one point, the kid almost gave up pigskin sports while at Jordan High. This was the result of the pressure put on him from all sides to improve his game, which he could not have done better as a young man. However, for the timely advice and help of his grandmother and DeSean Jackson, he developed more naturally at his career pace.

Ross chose college football at the University of Washington. As a freshman in Washington in 2013, he played in 13 games with 16 receptions for 208 yards and a touchdown with 720 kick return yards and a touchdown.

The following year (2014) he played 13 of 14 games, of which he recorded 7 being played as a receiver and 4 as a cornerback. During the season, Ross had 17 passes for 371 yards and 4 touchdowns as a receiver, 12 tackles and an interception as a cornerback, and 938 return yards and 2 touchdowns.

John Ross was largely absent from the 2015 season, as a result of a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). He picked out the injury during a training session in spring 2015. The tenacious footballer returned later in 2016, recording 5 receptions for 90 yards, receiving 2 touchdowns and a kick return touchdown.

The star athlete saw many nominations and awards for his contributions to the football game, including honors for the All-Pac-12 team (2016), AP Pac-12 Player of the Year (2016), and a Biletnikoff Award semifinalist, among others Top wide receiver in the country.

profile design

In a few years, this footballer will have come through well, refined and up to the rigors of the game. With his career still in its infancy, John Ross can only be judged on his draft profile of him at this point.

The Cincinnati Bengals Jersey #15 Wide Receiver is very quick on his feet, can outrun anyone and is equally good at making ball tackles, making him more than good at receiving and blocking. His pace has also come in handy when dealing with a passing error against opposing teams. He can also open up games with his explosive speed, breaking up safeguards and scooping out the unwary outside the box. Thanks to his good footwork, John can change direction at any moment without losing steam or being late to score a long touchdown from whatever point the pass comes from. Rest assured, the ball won’t fall from his hands.

While Ross has repeatedly demonstrated his ability to run a variety of routes, track the ball in the air, and make games that can suddenly change a game. There are still a few dull edges to work on. The footballer struggled with injuries in college and isn’t strong enough to win a 50/50 jump ball yet as he doesn’t have the physical strength to wriggle out of tight corner situations. Regardless, with the right training and mentoring, John Ross will master his weaknesses and turn them into assets.

He stands at a height of 1.78 m and weighs approximately 85 kg with a hand size of 8 3/4 in (0.22 m) and an arm length of 31 1/2 in (0.80 m).

It’s worth noting that this fleet-footed footballer completed the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine in 4.22 seconds, beating Chris Johnson’s previous record of 4.24 seconds.

NFL career statistics

John Ross’ dream of playing professionally came true without hesitation when he was selected in the first round of the 2017 NFL draft when he was picked 9th overall by the Cincinnati Bengals. He then signed a four-year rookie deal worth $17.1 million and received a $10.6 million signing bonus on May 7, 2017.

The Long Beach, Calif. native footballer warned the 6th wide receiver in his team’s depth chart behind Brandon LaFell, Cody Core, Tyler Boyd, Josh Malone and first pick AJ Green. He launched his NFL career with a loss to the Houston Texans in a match he finished poorly when he recorded a fumble in his first and only pass of the game. Ross subsequently played in 2 of 10 games in his rookie season, from which he did not record stats.

The remainder of his junior season was spent on the injured reserve list when he picked up a shoulder injury. In fact, this certainly doesn’t look like the career the footballer was expecting, nor does it look like the way his family and fans would have wished for him. Here’s hoping he shows up again and proves his money on the team.
