Loss Meme Meaning Explained. Why is it trending online?
“Is This Loss” or Loss meme is taking over the Internet with all its force. But, let me tell you, this is not a complete new meme that got generated in the past few months.
The meme actually started in 2008, when Tim Buckley created a webcomic called Ctrl+Alt+Del(CAD-Abbreviated form) that revolves around Ethan, his sarcastic roommate Lucas and his fiancé Lilah.
Now things turn south when Lilah goes through miscarriage.
To show the situation, four side-by-side photos with no dialogue show Ethan entering a hospital where he sees Lilah crying following her miscarriage.
But despite the negative responses from a larger mass, the content started trending as meme material, and people started making parodies and reinterpretations.
And after more than a decade, the meme has made its way in 2022. So, let’s talk about why is it trending this time.
‘Is This Loss’ Meme Meaning Explained On Reddit
In 2008, Tim Buckley posted a comic strip titled “Loss”, which became a viral meme when people started making parodies of Pokemon, Simpsons, and characters of their choice.
Though the intention was not to mock miscarriage, the four side-by-side formats became a thing.

How Is It Funny?
The Loss meme is the same as other regular memes, but the only thing that has made it funny in recent days are the parodies made by several meme makers.
Other than that, many readers worldwide simply found the miscarriage of Lilah humourous. Well, it was subjective.
Where many mocked at it, many did not sit with the poorly-executed comic.
Is This Loss Mean On TikTok
While the trend has taken over all the social media outlets, including Twitter and Reddit, TikTok has also not remained untouched by the trend.
The hashtag altogether on the short-clip-making platform has reached more than 10 million.
