Obi is a Nigerian-based businessman who currently owns the fancy hospitality company, The Cabana Group. He had previously made headlines in July 2021 after he hosted a burial for his late mother, where he sacrificed over 200 cows.
Furthermore, EFCC has arrested him on October 1st for fraud charges. Currently, the officials are interrogating him on the subject, money laundering and his involvement in it.

As the reports state, Obi Cubana has been currently detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The news has currently made headlines all over the media.
The sources from Premium Times report that Obi arrived at the headquarters of the EFCC located at Jabi, Abuja on, Monday. The sources add that, he had arrived at 12 p.m.
His case is believed to be linked with money laundering and tax fraud. However, when asked, the spokesperson for the EFCC, Wilson Uwujare, said he hasn’t been briefed for the full report yet. And the interrogation is still in process.

The renowned businessman and Entreprenaur, Obi Cubana, has been arrested for the cause of money laundering and fraud charges.
With his enormous income sources, he has to pay the appropriate tax for the government. However, he seems to have been hiding his accurate sources of income so he doesn’t have to pay tax. And thus, his charge of money laundering occurred.
BBC estimates his current net worth to be over $96 million, making him one of the richest business tycoons in Nigeria.
In July 2021, he held a lavish and unique funeral for his late mother, Ezinne Iyiegbu, which was not easy to get unnoticed. He had killed over 200 cows for the funeral. Since that day, the public has been well aware of his existence.
