ESPN’s college basketball analyst is Joseph Lunardi. He was born in Philadelphia and graduated from Saint Joseph’s University after attending Damien High School in California. Lunardi presently resides in the Drexel Hill neighbourhood of Philadelphia. He is best known for inventing Bracketology, which he describes as the “art and science” of projecting the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament teams. He is well recognised as ESPN’s resident bracketologist. He is also the Assistant Vice President of Marketing Communications at Saint Joseph’s University and offers colour commentary for the Saint Joseph’s Hawks men’s basketball team. By placing both Creighton and St. Mary’s erroneously in his final bracket on March 15, Lunardi properly predicted all 65 teams to appear in the 2008 NCAA Tournament, while correctly choosing 63 of the 65 teams in the 2009 field.

In the 2010 NCAA Tournament, Lunardi accurately predicted 64 of the 65 teams, predicting that Illinois would receive the final at-large bid, while in actuality, Florida did. Lunardi correctly predicted all 68 teams for the 2013 tournament after making blunders in 2011 and 2012. Lunardi came “near enough” to properly picking 67 of 68 teams in the 2014 March Madness, with SMU being the lone exception. In the first 90 minutes, Lunardi’s inaugural bracket for ESPN attracted 250,000 hits. Over the course of a season, his brackets can receive millions of hits. Since then, he’s been a regular on ESPN’s Bracketology and SportsCenter, particularly in the months leading up to the NCAA Tournament in February and March
