How Much Money Does Bill Mack Make? Latest Bill Mack Net Worth Income Salary

Bill Mack (born 1932) is a country music performer, songwriter, and radio presenter from the United States. While hosting The Country Roads Program (later renamed U.S. 1 Trucking Show and later still, Midnight Cowboy Trucking Show), Mack was most known for his nighttime country music show on WBAP, a Fort Worth clear channel station. Mack’s programme was mainly geared at truck drivers who drove throughout the late-night hours of the day or night. The opening theme song, an instrumental version of Orange Blossom Special performed by Felix Slatkin and his orchestra, served as the show’s opening theme music. Mack’s programme could be heard throughout much of the continental United States at night because to the clear channel signal range provided by WBAP’s skywave transmission. Mack’s programme premiered in 1969 on NBC.

He temporarily moved his programme to XERF, a Mexican “border blaster” station, but he returned to WBAP when an arrangement for Mack to host his show from his Fort Worth home fell through due to unforeseen circumstances. Mack also presents the nationally syndicated radio programme Country Crossroads, which can be heard on more than 800 radio stations throughout the country, as well as a comparable cable television show on FamilyNet. Aside from that, he presents the Overdrive Top Ten Countdown, a weekly one-hour country music countdown targeted at truckers that airs in syndication every Wednesday. WBAP’s Mack departed to join XM Satellite Radio’s Open Road channel, which broadcasts in the United States (XM 171). Contrary to popular belief, two of the other major characters on Open Road, Dave Nemo and Dale “The Truckin’ Bozo” Sommers, used to be Mack’s biggest rivals on AM radio stations until all three departed their stations to join XM Radio.

Mack’s radio show could be heard daily from 12 Noon to 3 PM Eastern on XM channel 13, and it was repeated from Midnight to 3 AM Eastern on the same channel. According to Mack, Sirius/XM had cancelled his contract in order to create space for a consolidation of two Sirius/XM channels, The Roadhouse and Willie’s Place, into a single channel, and that this was his last programme. After Mack retired from WBAP, Eric Harley took over as host of the Midnight Radio Network, which has now been renamed the Midnight Radio Network. Mack is a composer in the country music business, as well as a performer.
