Shibuno was born in Okayama, Japan on November 15, 1998 to parents who really loved sports and were athletes. Shibuno’s father was a discus thrower, and her mother was a javelin thrower. Shibuno is the second of three children who were given birth to by her parents.

She began playing softball and golf when she was in the second grade. She was a pitcher and a left-handed hitter. In the 2010 Okayama Prefecture Junior Golf Championship, she placed third as a golfer in the 4th, 5th, and 6th grade divisions.
