The film converts the News Cafe into Gilbert’s Deli, a fictitious New York City. Most of the action took in that place.
The city newspaper reported that Back to the Future star Lea Thompson disclosed the beautiful scenery during her schedule for The Spencer Sisters.
Meanwhile, the tourism board spotted some well-known landmarks. The outdoor cinema scene was done right in Old Market Square, while the indoors were shot within the Exchange District’s buildings.
