Gims, who is officially known as Gandhi Bilel Djuna, is a Congolese singer, composer, and rapper. Gims was born on 5 May 1986 in Kinshasa, Zaire in the Democratic Republic of Congo but grew up in France.

Gims was born into a family full of musicians. His father, Djanana Djuna was a vocalist in Papa Wemba’s band, and his brother, Dadju is a French Singer and rapper.

Gims started his music career while he was still studying in Junior High School where he collaborated with Sexion d’Assaut when composing songs.  Gims and Sexion d’Assaut released their first song dubbed “Coup 2 Pression” in 2015. Gims released a lot of songs ever since he released his first song in 2015 and has maintained his fame in the music industry by releasing top hit songs.

Gims also owns a record label called Monstre Marin Corporation (MMC). It affiliates with Universal Music France and he has signed rappers such as Bedjik (Grims younger brother), Yanslo, Viral, DJ Arafat, DJ Last One among many others.
