The body of Garrett Reid, the eldest son of Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid, was discovered in his dorm at the team’s training facility at Lehigh University. He was 29.
Garrett Reid Cause Of Death: What happened to Garrett Reid?
Garrett Reid passed away almost eleven years ago. The young son of Andy Reid, the current head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs and the former head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, was 29 years old.
The head coach of the Chiefs had five children, including Garrett. Britt, Spencer, Crosby, and Drew are his siblings. Garrett worked as the Eagles’ unofficial strength and conditioning coach.
The young man’s unintentional heroin overdose was determined to be the cause of death by a toxicology analysis. The young man’s family was aware of his protracted fight with heroin addiction, which tragically led to his death in October 2012.
According to reports, the coach’s son was getting help for his addiction at the time, but some people worried that he might have relapsed. Northampton County’s district attorney, John Morganelli remarked
“We are confident today that Mr. Reid’s death was the result of a self-injected lethal dose of heroin.”
At Lehigh University, where the Eagles’ training camp was being held at the time, Reid was discovered in his dorm room. The young man was discovered in his room with a used syringe and a spoon, according to the investigators at the time.
