Flavia Cacace, the talented and graceful dancer who waltzed her way into the hearts of Strictly Come Dancing fans, has captivated audiences with her dazzling performances. Flavia’s journey to stardom began on the popular BBC1 show Strictly Come Dancing, where she showcased her incredible dancing skills. During her first season on the show, she was partnered with comedian Jimmy Tarbuck. Unfortunately, their journey on the show was cut short due to Jimmy’s health issues. However, Flavia returned the following year, partnering with actor Matt Di Angelo. Their chemistry on the dance floor was undeniable, and they made it all the way to the final round, narrowly missing out on the top spot, which was claimed by singer Alesha Dixon.
But it wasn’t just dancing that Flavia found on the show; she also found love. After the series concluded, Flavia began a relationship with her dance partner, Matt Di Angelo. It doesn’t leave me much time for myself.”
Despite her demanding schedule, Flavia tries to stay fit by hitting the gym a couple of times a week. She’s particularly fond of using the Swiss ball to strengthen her core. When she’s not sweating it out at the gym, Flavia enjoys indulging in some retail therapy, often visiting her favorite high street stores, Reiss and Karen Millen. She also has a penchant for homeware shopping, favoring stores like Habitat and Heal’s.
One aspect of her life that has taken a back seat due to her busy schedule is regular facials. She admits, “I could count on one hand the number I’ve had recently.” As she’s gotten older, she’s wanted to treat herself to facials more often, but her time on the road makes it challenging to keep appointments with the same therapist who can get to know her skin.
Flavia’s approach to her appearance has evolved as well. While she used to have raven-black hair and an all-year-round tan achieved with sunbeds, she’s since embraced a more natural look. She acknowledges that the contrast may have looked great on the dance floor, but it was too harsh for everyday life. After all the hair dye took a toll on her locks, she had to cut her hair into a short crop and let it grow back naturally.
Her sunbed sessions also came to a halt after she noticed a dark mark on her forehead, which prompted concerns about her health. Now, Flavia opts for self-tanning products at home, with Sienna and St Tropez being her favorite brands. However, she’s not averse to sunbathing while on holiday, particularly in her favorite destination, the picturesque Italian island of Sardinia.
Despite her British accent, Flavia’s Italian roots are still close to her heart. She moved to the UK from Naples with her family when she was four years old. Her upbringing on a Mediterranean diet has left her with a love for pasta and bread, with her mom’s spaghetti bolognese being her all-time favorite meal. Flavia hails from a large family, with five siblings and a whopping 13 nieces and nephews. She marvels at how her parents managed to raise such a big family.
While Flavia cherishes her extended family, she’s in no hurry to start her own. She understands the impact having children would have on her life and career, and for now, she wants to make the most of her years while she can. Flavia believes her body can handle her hectic schedule, and she envisions having children later in life, albeit not as many as her parents did.
For now, Flavia Cacace continues to tour, give dance classes with Vincent, and explore her other ventures, like her casual clothing and swimwear range, Sandstorm Boutique. While she acknowledges that she’s been in front of the camera more often and is gaining confidence, she remains committed to her first love: dancing. Although she knows that her dancing career can’t last forever, she is content to continue dancing for a few more years before considering other pursuits.
