Trevor Noah sued Dr. Riley J Williams III for negligence in a surgery he underwent in November 2020. He has alleged the doctor for blotched surgery.
Trevor Noah is a South African comedian, host, and political commentator. Currently, he is working as a host in The Daily Show, an American satirical news program on Comedy Central.
The host is also a writer who had written a book called Born a Crime which was the best-selling book. In 2017, 2018, and 2019 he was named as one of the 35 most powerful people in New York by the Hollywood Reporter.
Besides being a host and comedian, Trevor is also an actor who has appeared in various movies like Nashville, American Vandal, and Black Panther.
The host had gone to the hospital to undergo surgery in 2020. The nature of the surgery was not disclosed.
Who Is Dr. Riley J Williams III?
Dr. Riley Williams is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in elbow, knee, and shoulder injuries.
The doctor had pursued his Doctor of Medicine at Standford University School of Medicine from 1987 to 1992. And the coming five years, he studied under Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program at Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS).
In 1998, he was hired as a staff surgeon and specialist by the same hospital HSS. After 23 years, he is still in the hospital, diagnosing and treating sports-related and orthopedic injuries.
The doctor was also appointed as the instructor in orthopedic surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College, and even today, he is the professor of Orthopedic Surgery.
Dr, Williams had performed surgery on Trevor, and later he got sued for the same.

Trevor Noah Surgery: What Had Happened?
Trevor Noah claimed that the New York Hospital and orthopedic surgeon were careless and failed to treat him. The Daily Show host claimed that he was the patient of Dr. Williams between August 25 and December 17, 2020. On November 23, he went underwent surgery.
The lawsuit adds that the hospital and surgeon failed to prescribe proper medicine, failed to discontinue prescribed medicines, and failed to do proper testing to diagnose the condition.
It is still unclear what exactly was the surgery for.
As per the documents, Noah has sustained permanent, severe, and grievous injuries. He had severe personal injuries which left him sick, sore, lamed, and disabled.
A representative of the Hosptial Surgeon denied the accusations and claimed it was meritless.

After the surgery, he had filed a lawsuit and claimed that he had lost the enjoyment of life.
Due to HIPPA, the hospital did not address publicly the revealed the technical aspects of the treatment given to the patient and denied all the allegations by Trevor.
