Everything We Know About Adrian Peterson, His Wife and Son

Adrian Peterson has recorded much success in his career as a running back for the Washington Redskin but he first played for the Minnesota Vikings after he was selected with the seventh overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft.

Looking at Adrian from a very different perspective, aside from his career and how successful he has become, he may top the list of the most prolific fathers in sports history. In this article, you would get to know everything about his personal life, body stats, and net worth.

Things You Should Know About Adrian Peterson’s Wife

We wouldn’t be totally wrong to say that Adrian Peterson could be referred to as the father of many nations. Reports say that the footballer has about 6 to 8 children from different women.

For the records, the footballer is married and had tied the knot with Ashley Brown sometime in July 2014. The two had a long-term relationship and dated for four years after they met in 2010. As expected, their union produced children – two boys which are his legitimate children.

His other children were revealed after he lost a son (Tyrese Robert Ruffin) from one of his numerous baby mamas. The infant was said to have been killed by Joseph Robert Patterson, his mother’s boyfriend.

Later on, the footballer was questioned during an interview with ESPN in 2013 about the number of kids he has. Surprisingly, he couldn’t outrightly mention how many, he just ignored the question and noted that in his heart he knows how many but would rather keep it to himself.  Like always, this prompted a lot of diggings.

It was later discovered that Adrian Peterson was linked to a lady who works as a waitress in Minnesota. No one can tell if he had the affair while he was married to Ashely Brown or before he met her. With the said waitress, he later had a baby girl. Basically, details about the footballer’s plentiful children are still being revealed.

Death of His Son and Child Abuse Controversies

It is really difficult to lose a child but losing one you have never met could be super devastating. Among his numerous offsprings, Tyrese Ruffin was Adrian’s son who died when he was two. He was said to have been in the care of his mother, Ann Doohan, who lives somewhere in South Dakota. The little boy reportedly died as a result of being choked by his snacks. These claims were made by the infant’s mother’s friend Joseph Robert Patterson.

However, Joseph’s report did not satisfy the boy’s family and they insisted on carrying out an autopsy on the deceased. After much ado, it was discovered that the child died as a result of multiple blows to the head, leading to a brain injury. Later on, Joseph was charged for a second-degree murder case and sentenced to life imprisonment.

On Adrian Peterson’s part, it wasn’t an easy experience because he faced a lot of crisis afterwards. He made headlines for the wrong reasons and was accused of child neglect but later openly revealed that he was sorry for his acts and it did break his soul to see his infant child killed at a tender age.

That wasn’t all, exactly a year after the incident, Adrian Peterson made headlines again for an indictment on charges of reckless or negligent injury after using corporal punishment on his 4-year-old kid. He later pleaded guilty and said he punished the lad by whipping him with a tree branch because he pushed one of his brothers off a motorbike. On the 4-year-old’s part, he told the police that his father didn’t just end with whipping him with a tree branch but also hit him in the face and used a belt on him as well.

Investigations were later carried out and it was found that the kid sustained injuries on almost all the parts of his body including his back, buttocks, genitals, ankles and legs. Subsequently, Adrian was found guilty and asked to pay a fine of $4,000 in addition to 80 hours of community service. He was equally put on probation. On settling the case in court, the National Football League suspended him but he later resumed playing in 2015.

Body Stats

To have such a number of women flocking around him, you wouldn’t agree less that Adrian Peterson has good looks and of course is loaded financially. We wouldn’t say that Adrian’s height is the best ever seen in an athlete but we sure know that he has taken his time to keep solidly fit. He stands at 6 feet 1 inch and weighs 100 kg.

His Net Worth is Impressive

Playing for any team in the National Football League is like having your finances secured for life. Since Adrian Peterson plays as running back for the Washington Redskins and has remained relevant in the game, nothing short of impressive is expected of his net worth. Currently, his annual salary is listed as $14 million while he has an estimated net worth of $30 million.
