On October 17, 1972, in Saint Joseph, Missouri, USA, the popular rapper Eminem was born Marshall Bruce Mathers III. At the time of his birth, he was the son of a fifteen-year-old mother and a father who left six months later and never returned. When he was 12, he eventually settled on the Eastside of Detroit, spending much of his youth going back and forth between Saint Joseph and suburban Detroit, Michigan.
Marshall also moved schools every two to three months while he was studying at Lincoln High School in Warren from 1986 to 1989. It made it very hard for him to make friends and keep out of trouble. Failing three times in 9th grade before he eventually dropped out, he claimed that he was not dumb. He said he was not involved in school because rap was everything he needed to do.
At the early age of four, Marshall started to rap and began actively considering a career at the age of 14. It was the moment when he started to play rap in the basement of the home of his high school mate. Eventually, at 17, he made himself a name, Eminem, which was taken from his initials M(arshall) M M (athers). The white Eminem, who eventually discovered the simplest path to win underground hip-hop culture by being a combat rapper playing in many clubs and forcing himself on radio shows, dismissed the Hip-Hop group, used to black rapper.
He was not immediately welcomed by the mainstream, however he showed himself to be a qualified rapper as time went by. Em joined the New Jacks and then switched to Soul Purpose and released his first recorded single with them in 1995, receiving several offers to follow some other rappers in order to start a party. It was a rapper called Proof who then asked Eminem, because he liked collaborating with him, to create a new group. Proof and Eminem were also in a collective called D12 alongside their four other members, both of whom ended up relying more on their solo careers rather than their teamwork, culminating in a career split.
It was the birth, on December 25, 1995, of Em’s first child, Hailie Jade Scott, with Kim Scott, a longtime girlfriend, that inspired him to fight harder for the money his family wanted. For him, who had nothing except the “sucks” life encounters he used as the subject of his rap songs, it was tough. One year back, Eminem released his first “Infinite” album in 1996, only to gain a few ratings.
He quickly added Slim Shady, an alter ego who was not frightened to express how he thought, learning from his past disappointment. Working on the song with all his heart and intensity, Em spilled out his heart and shared his feelings towards his mum, who was accused of assaulting his younger brother physically and psychologically.
Kimberly Ann Scott left him in 1997 and barred him from seeing their boy. The anger sent Eminem to a regular rate of alcohol and substance misuse that undoubtedly influenced his composition. Upon committing suicide, he ultimately discovered that his artistic ambition was the only and only way to escape from his lonely life. This kind of despair led him to release the vicious “The Slim Shady EP” which he literally filled with some of the compositions he had published long before. Many individuals dubbed him music’s new “great white hope.” because of his distinctly exaggerated, nasal-voiced rapping style and his skin tone.
Finally, he signed a deal with Interscope and was brought under the wing of Dr. Dre, enabling a full-length CD to be released. Both then began to record “My Name Is” before Dre eventually deciding to produce Em’s first album, with “Just Don’t Give A F*ck” single as the album teaser. They were led by a reunion with Kimberly Ann Scott into a marriage conducted in the fall of 1998.
He launched “The Slim Shady LP” in early 1999, which produced hits such as “My Name Is” and “Guilty Conscience” The record went triple platinum for the next few years, putting the pros and cons of the lyrics of the album well away. The Marshall Mathers LP, which was issued in the summer of 2000, continued his popularity. In the first week of release in the United States, it sold 1.76 million units, a record for a solo artist, successfully won 3 Grammies and became the first rap album ever to be named Abum of the Year.
When the success and notoriety arrived, thanks to several protests Eminem had created, several more scandals erupted, including a confrontation with the staff of the Insane Clown Posse in a car stereo shop; a fight with pop star Christina Aguilera; a complaint from his mother; and an assault on goers of a Detroit party.
He was motivated by these allegations to create two other albums, named “Kill You” and “Kim.” In the latter album, he raped about killing his own wife brutally, which in reality drew her to a suicidal attempt until they were eventually divorced. At first, Kim was awarded physical custody of her baby, financial aid, a personal driver, and credit card reinstatement, but later, Eminem was offered shared custody of her daughter, Hailie Jade.
He met his old Detroit mates in 2001 and re-formed D-12, all of whom recorded an album together that summer and hit the road. This was followed by an acting debut directed by Curtis Hanson in ‘8 Mile’, a movie loosely focused on his life. For the album titled ‘Lose Yourself,’ he received the 2003 Academy Award. Then came the album “The Eminem Show” which provoked many critics despite its successful second track, “Cleanin’ My Closet” which revolved around his abusive upbringing and his hate towards his mother. Nevertheless, financially, it was a major hit.
Another well-received song, “Encore” which took him back to D12 with his old mates, soon followed in 2004. It was nominated for three Grammys and later made digital history by becoming the first album in a week to sell 10,000 digital copies. In 2005, he later hit the recording booth with friends for a “D12 World” song, seemingly to return the favor.
Em was rumored to be withdrawing from the recording business when he was at the height of his career. But he refuted it, “When I say I take a break, I take a break from my music to go to the studio to produce my other artists. Despite his self-defense, as he was once sent under treatment to overcome his dependence on sleep medication, the rapper apparently got caught in a worse situation. This obviously caused the public worldwide to have a deteriorating perception of both his personal and musical perceptions.”
“In fact, Em proceeded to focus on his music career. On December 6, 2005, a greatest hits collection “Curtain Call: The Hits” was issued. The latest package enjoyed tremendous popularity, much as its predecessors, bowing atop the Billboard album charts. Things also turned better in his personal life as he announced that he is back with ex-wife Kimberly. “We have reconciled and are expected to remarry,” h
Yet Em refuted this by claiming, “Her allegations about my post-rehab status are both untrue and unfortunate….” Ok, she realized I was applying for divorce. We also wanted to give our marriage another opportunity and soon discovered that the root issues are not resolved by a wedding.
He took a break from recording after “Encore”. He claimed he was “in limbo” and “debating” over when and whether another album will be released. He said, “I’m always working in the studio a**. I’m always in the studio.” Right now, it feels amazing, the vitality of the mark. I didn’t want to head back into the studio for a bit… I have been going through some personal issues. I’m getting out of the personal stuff [and] that feels amazing.
His followers rejoiced in May 2009 as “Relapse” was rolled out that year as a comeback release. It topped Hot 200 with hits including “Crack a Bottle”, “We Made You” and “Beautiful”, marking the tenth time he sat at the top of the U.S. album list. As one of the most expected records of the year, by the end of December, the song became the best-selling rap CD.
When he released another “Recovery” album in the following year, fresh songs began to arrive from the artist. Not only did it generate smash hit hits such as “Not Afraid” and “Love the Way You Lie” but it also became his ticket to receive further Grammy Awards. He also earned his best-selling song to date with the Rihanna-assisted track with 10.25 million sold worldwide.
Em never lost his origins despite being one of the best-selling rappers in the country. In addition to his reconciliation with D12, he even got back together with another of his Terrible Meets Evil homie, Royce 5’9 ” for “Hell: The Sequel” song. A year after his “Recovery” the CD was released.
“After two years of absence, Eminem responded to the demand of fans for new music in 2013. He released “The Marshall Mathers LP 2” with “Berzerk” as a lead track. While it was only previewed with one single, reviewers were already praising the record. Several music publications called it one of the most awaited albums of 2013.

Apart from the controversy, Eminem was named the first YouTube Music Awards Artist of the Year on November 3, and a week later, at the 2013 MTV Europe Music Awards, he received the Global Icon Award. His achievement did not stop there. At the 57th Grammy Awards, the rapper received the Best Rap Album Award for “The Marshall Mathers LP 2 ” and the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration Award for “The Monster” feature at the 57th Grammy Awards.
In 2014, Eminem released “ShadyXV” after unveiling a seven-minute cypher entitled “Detroit Vs. Everybody” along with other rappers such as Danny Brown, Big Sean and Trick Trick. The album debuted at No. 3 on Billboard chart with 138,000 units. Not only releasing an album, but Eminem also made a cameo appearance in “The Interview”, where he played a homosexual character.
While Eminem did not release any album in 2015, the rapper revealed several songs featuring Gwen Stefanii, including “Kings Never Die”
