Netizens worry that Tiktok has removed the repost option from the platform.
Tiktok has developed itself over the past many years. There are various features added to it. The most recent was that the creators could upload videos that would be a maximum of 5 minutes long and the repost button.
But, it seems they have removed the reports option now, judging by the people’s reaction on social media over the issue.
Did Tiktok Remove Repost?
There are rumors that Tiktok had removed the repost feature. However, it was a new feature that rolled out in early 2022.
Users could find the button under the “Share” menu. However, unlike the direct video sharing option to your friends through social media, the Repost button promotes the video to your TikTok followers.
As mentioned by TechCrunch, the platform introduced the version thinking it would be a way to increase the visibility of a video that has already been algorithmically recommended. As a result, more people would see it.
However, it is not the same as twitter’s retweet option, where the post could show up in the user’s profile who would share it. Instead, the video will only be visible to the user’s followers on the feeds.
