Carlos Beltran is a former professional baseball player with an estimated net worth of $80 million.
Named as one of the best all-time statistical hitters in the post-seasons of Major League Baseball, Carlos Beltran has earned different nicknames like “Mr. October, Jr.”, “the real Mr. October”, “Señor Octubre” and “the new Mr. October”.
Carlos Beltran’s professional baseball career started in 1995 when he was selected by the Kansas City Royals as a second round pick in the 1995 Major League Baseball Draft. He played with the Royals until 2004 when he was traded to the Houston Astros as a result of a three-team deal. Despite his impressive performance during the 2004 season, he became a free agent the following year. He then signed a seven-year $119-million contract with the New York Mets. The deal was considered as the most expensive contract in the history of MLB during that time. It was the 10th contract in baseball history that cost over $100 million.
In July 2011, he was traded to the San Francisco Giants in exchange for Zack Wheeler. To cover Carlos Beltran’s remaining contract which was estimated to be around $6.5 million, the New York Mets paid $4 million to the Giants. In December of the same year, he signed a two-year $26 million deal with the St. Louis Cardinals.
Throughout his entire career, Carlos Beltran was named to seven All Star Games (2004–2007, 2009, 2011–2012). He is a recipient of three Golden Glove Awards and two Silver Slugger Awards.
