Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to
apply for a Brazilian Visa.

  • An original Ethiopian passport valid for at least 6 months and have at least 3 blank pages.
  • Signed visa application form.
  • One (1) passport-size photograph taken with a white background.
  • Proof of financial means (bank statements of the last 3 months).
  • Official cover letter.
  • Proof of hotel or private accommodation in Brazil.
  • Copy of round-trip flight ticket.

General Requirements for Brazil Visa

  • An original Ethiopian passport valid for at least 6 months and have at least 3 blank pages.

Brazil Visitor Visa Eligibility &
Requirements

  • The Brazilian visitor visa is issued to foreign nationals who intend to travel to Brazil for tourism, sightseeing, vacation or other leisure activities.
  • This visa also allows its holder to visit friends or relatives residing in Brazil.
  • The visitor visa application form must be completed online then printed and signed. Applicants must complete mandatory sections before they can print the application form.
  • You are to upload your passport-size photograph to the application page along with other supporting documents. The photo must be taken against a white background and meet all the Brazilian passport photo specifications.
  • You are required to submit an official letter from your employer stating awareness of leave as well as when you are to resume back to work. If you are a student, you are to submit a letter from the school permitting you to be absent from school.
  • As proof that you can cater to your financial needs for the entire duration of your stay in Brazil, you are required to provide copies of your bank statements of the last 3 months.
  • You are required to submit a copy of your hotel reservation in Brazil.
  • If you will be staying in a private residence with friends or relatives, you are to submit an invitation letter from your host. The letter must show the contact details (address and phone number) of your host.
  • To show that you intend to leave Brazil once your visa expires, you are required to submit a copy of your round-trip flight reservation.
  • The tourist visa fee is ETB2,560.
  • Cash payments for the visa fee are not accepted by the embassy. You must make a bank deposit. You are to bring the original bank deposit voucher along with your visa request.
  • You are still required to affix a passport-size photo with your printed visa fee payment receipt.

Brazil Business Visa Eligibility &
Requirements

  • The Brazilian business visa is issued to foreign nationals who intend to travel to Brazil for business purposes.
  • The business visa application form must be completed online then printed and signed. Applicants must complete mandatory sections before they can print the application form.
  • You are to upload your passport-size photograph to the application page along with other supporting documents. The photo must be taken against a white background and meet all the Brazilian passport photo specifications.
  • An official letter from your employer stating your name, your role in the company and the purpose of your travel to Brazil must be submitted. The letter should also give a guarantee that your employer will be taking care of your business travel expenses.
  • As proof that you can cater to your financial needs for the entire duration of your stay in Brazil, you are required to provide copies of your bank statements of the last 3 months.
  • You must also submit an official letter of invitation from your partner in Brazil stating the nature of the business to be carried out in Brazil.
  • A copy of the business licence of your company must be submitted.
  • You are required to submit a copy of your hotel reservation in Brazil.
  • If you will be staying in a private residence in Brazil, the invitation letter must show the contact details (address and phone number) of your host.
  • To show that you intend to leave Brazil once your visa expires, you are required to submit a copy of your round-trip flight reservation.
  • The business visa fee is ETB2,560.

Brazil Transit Visa Eligibility &
Requirements

  • The Brazilian transit visa is issued to foreign nationals who intend to travel through Brazil to a third country.
  • If you do not intend to leave the designated transit area within the airport in Brazil and have a combined airline ticket to your final destination in a third country, you do not need a Brazilian visa.
  • You do require a visa if you intend to go through immigration in Brazil and leave the designated transit area within the airport, or if you have purchased your airline tickets separately.
  • The visitor visa application form must be completed online then printed and signed.
  • You are to upload your passport-size photograph to the application page along with other supporting documents. The photo must be taken against a white background and meet all the Brazilian passport photo specifications.
  • You are required to provide copies of your bank statements for the last 3 months or proof of financial means for international travel.
  • You must also submit a copy of your flight ticket to your country of destination with transit in a Brazilian airport.
  • You are to show proof that you meet the entry requirements for your destination country such as a visa for that country.
  • The transit visa fee is ETB2,560.
  • Cash payments for the visa fee are not accepted by the embassy. You must make a bank deposit. You are to bring the original bank deposit voucher along with your visa request.
  • You are still required to affix a passport-size photo with your printed visa fee payment receipt.
