Michael Tarabay
Tarabay and Maines exchanged their wedding vows in 1997; the former couple met each other when they attended South Plains College. They had dated for a while before Tarabay proposed Maines.
Their marriage ended in divorce after they were together for two years, and the reason for the divorce was cited as irreconcilable differences. They didn’t have any kids while they were together.
Adrian Pasdar
Pasdar and Maines got married in 2000; they had previously in 1999 during her bandmate Emily Strayer’s wedding. The ex-couple was blessed with two sons, Beckett Finn Pasdar and Jackson Slade Pasdar.
After being together for 17 years, they ended their relationship and filed for divorce on July 2017, but it was only finalized on December 2019. Their divorce finalization lasted two years as they fought over their prenuptial agreement.
Maines released a new album, “Gaslighter,” after 14 years of hiatus with her bandmates; the album consisted of songs related to divorce.
Martie Maguire And Her Partners
Maguire got married twice, she was first married to Ted Seidel and later to Gareth Maguire, but sadly both of her relationships ended in divorce.
Ted Seidel
Maguire and Seidel eloped in 1995, but their marriage ended in divorce as they divorced in 1995; the reason for their split was not disclosed. When they were together, Maguire was a stepmother to Ted’s son Carter.
Ted and Martie didn’t have kids when they were in a relationship.
Gareth Maguire
Martie and Gareth got married on August 10, 2001; they exchanged their vows in a civil ceremony in Hawaii. Later in March 2002, they had a Catholic “blessing” ceremony in Gareth’s hometown for the guests who could not attend the wedding ceremony.
They first met at Manies sister’s wedding and started to know each other before they got engaged in June 2001. They were blessed with three beautiful daughters, Harper Rosie Maguire, and fraternal twins Kathleen ‘Katie’ Emilie and Eva Ruth.
Gareth and Martie divorced in 2013. The reason for their divorce was not stated.
Emily Strayer And Her Partners
Strayer has eloped twice, first with Charlie Robison and second with Martin Strayer.
Charlie Robison
Strayer married singer Robison on May 1, 1999, at Cibolo Creek Ranch with their loved ones. Their marriage lasted for nine years as they divorced on August 6, 2008. They had three children together Charles Augustus and twins Henry Benjamin and Julianna Tex.
Her bandmate Martie revealed during a program that their hit romantic song “Cowboy Take Me Away” was inspired by their relationship.
Martin Strayer
Emily got married to the Court Yard Hounds guitarist Martin Strayer in 2013. Their romantic relationship began when Emily worked on the Court Yard Hounds album. The couple is blessed with a daughter Violet Isabel Strayer.
The Chicks Singer Natalie Maines Divorce Update
Maines and her ex-husband Adrian Pasdar had filed for divorce in 2017, but it was finalized in 2019 due to a prenuptial agreement.
As reported by Celebrity Nine, Pasdar had demanded US$16,427 for child support and US$44,076 a month in spousal support. He had claimed that Maines was the family’s sole breadwinner when they were together.
Later, he also tried to use a confidentiality clause in the prenup to prevent her ex-wife and her band from releasing any music referenced to him. He had requested the court to give him copies of the band’s unreleased music to protect his rights under confidentiality.
Pasdar also claimed that Maines used to pay bills, mortgage, and kids’ expenses. He mostly paid for meals at restaurants and minor expenses.
Natalie Maines Sisters
Natalie grew up with her sister Kim Maines in Lubbock, Texas. Their father, Lloyd Maines, was a country musician and her mother, Tina May Maines, was a homemaker. Maines and her sister Kim attended public minority schools.
Kim is a private person and likes to stay out of the spotlight when her sister and father are country music sensations.
For Natalie, her bandmates have also been like sisters to her even though they are not related by blood, but they have been together for over a decade. But Emily Strayer and Martie Maguire are sisters who are related by birth.
Dixie Chicks Controversy, Why Were They Cancelled?
In 2003, The Chicks shared with the audience that they didn’t support the Iraq invasion when Natalie Maines said she was ashamed that President George W. Bush and her were from Texas.
Her comment created a backlash in the United States; thousands of country radio stations blacklisted the Dixie Chicks, and the members also got severe threats for their remarks.
Maines had issued an apology for her disrespectful comment toward the president, but later in 2006, she canceled her apology, stating that George Bush didn’t deserve any respect.
Due to the controversy, their single “Landslide” dropped to No.43 from No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in a week and left the chart a week later. It also damaged their sales and the next album.
