Jack Farthing is an English actor who is notable for playing Freddie Threepwood in Blandings and as villain George Warleggan in the BBC One drama series Poldark. He also was cast as George Balfour in The Riot Club. The actor went to study at Westminster School and the Hall School, Hampstead, this is where he ventured into acting.
After Oxford University, he proceeded to study acting at LAMDA but left when he was spotted and cast as Benvolio at the Globe Theatre, taking part in other productions there, as well as at the Orange Tree, Richmond, and the Royal Court. While there, he was spotted by the casting director Andy Pryor who got him into television, with a small role in the period drama ‘Dancing on the Edge’ and a more substantial, recurring part as Freddie, daft son of the house in ‘Blandings’.
He has established his face on the television and he has appeared in the likes of ‘Poirot’ and the remake of ‘Poldark’. He was awarded the Satellite Award for Best Television Ensemble. Some of the notable movies that he has featured in are; 2014 The Riot Club, 2015 – Burn Burn Burn and 2019 – Official Secrets. Among the television shows he has been in 2012 Pramface, Silk and Blandings.
