Yumi Stynes parents: Who are the parents of Yumi Stynes?

On January 28, 2019, Yumi Stynes took part in a Studio 10 panel as a guest. During the event, host Kerri-Anne Kennerley brought up the issue of at-risk Indigenous women and children, and Stynes repeatedly called Kennerley “racist.” Kennerley expressed her fury over the “attack” in an interview with Ben Fordham from 2GB.

She also expressed concern about potential damage to her reputation. Stynes called in “sick” the day before her scheduled appearance on Studio 10 and stated via an Instagram post that her absence had nothing to do with what had occurred the day before.

She continued by emphasizing that she chose not to participate because she believed it was not her place to discuss Indigenous people’s rights.

She added that she believed she would have gotten caught in a trap if she had gone back to the concert the next day. As an alternative, Stynes took part in a radio interview with Kyle and Jackie O, making comments such, “Kennerley has been around forever, she’s like a cockroach, she can’t be extinguished.”

The hosts called Kennerley during that interview to address the argument from the day before. Stynes described Kennerley as someone who gave her anti-racism lectures. Stynes’ “attack” on Kennerley was ridiculed in the media and on the internet; some called it “lazy” and “predictable.”
