Younghoe Koo girlfriend Ava Maurer is working as an Elementary School Teacher since September 2018. Ava is originally from New York City.
Younghoe is the placekicker for the Atlanta Falcons. He has played for the team since 2019.
Originally, Koo was drafted by the Los Angeles Chargers in 2017 as an undrafted free agent. There, he played only one season and went to play in the AAF’s Atlanta Legends.

Ava is a Teacher at Wilson Elementary School.
She has been teaching there since September 2018 and has accumulated four years of experience.
On 31st July 2020, Kemp Elementary School in Georgia made special announcements on Twitter regarding their new teachers for the summer. One of them was Ava, who would teach third grade.
With her relocation to Atlanta to live with Younghoe, it was an easy decision to teach at a school that was closer to home for commuting daily.
Her Facebook is filled with Teachers’ Appreciation posts that she puts with her hubby’s photos.
On 25th March 2020, she shared a post dedicated to her love for educators and penned, “I miss my kids; it breaks my heart that I can’t see my kids learn, smile, and laugh every day.”

Ava completed her academic career at Coastal Carolina University in South Carolina.
She studied there from 2013 to 2017 and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Teaching.
Her schooling was done at Ridgewood High School, New Jersey. She also participated in the cheerleading program at that time. On 13th December 2012, Ava shared her photo with her cheerleader buddies during their practice session.
Furthermore, Maurer was also a member of the CCU Panhellenic Sorority. She promoted its registration form on 31st July 2014 on her Facebook.

Younghoe Koo parents Hyungseo Koo and Seungmae Choi raised him in Seoul and New Jersey.
Seungmae is a professional nurse who has followed her son’s journey to the NFL. Meanwhile, his dad, Hyungseo, is a Seoul’s Induk University professor.
Koo’s mother relocated from Ridgewood to Buford after her son chose to study in Georgia. She wanted to remain close to Younghoe to spend more time.
When he graduated from Georgia Southern, she was present alongside him to witness his commencement ceremony. Younghoe tweeted about it, with the caption that he could not have made it without his mom.
Mother Choi also does not forget to attend her son’s games. Per Bleacher Report, she would frequently come in the stands to watch Koo play during his school years.
Seungmae had also come in contact with other Korean – Americans and the families made it so that their kids could play football together after school hours.
