Yana Samsudin Biography

Yana Samsudin born Norliana Binti Samsudin on 25th September, 1984 in Yong Peng, Johor, during Awal Muharram, the beginning of the new year for the notary of Islam. Compared to her two sisters who were born in the hospital, her mother chose to give birth in the village, Kampung Melayu Kluang.

She is the third daughter of five siblings, to Samsudin Jamuri’s couple from Yong Peng and Suhaily Abdullah from Serian, Sarawak, he is Malay, Javanese and Bidayuh. Yana graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree at Universiti Teknologi MARA ( UiTM). Her siblings are Norliyati, Norliza, Muhammad Fahmi and Norliahazwani.

Yana inherited her art from her father. Her father used to be a member of the army called The Gunners from an artillery unit. She can play all the musical instruments and sing. Yana also joined RTM Star in Melaka and managed to represent the South zone, but she only managed to reach the quarter-finals. She is a Malaysian actor, director, screenwriter, singer and model

Yana Samsudin Wedding

She married a younger brother to actor and director Farid Kamil, Fadzil Zahari on February 13, 2015 at 4.15pm at the Yana family residence in Yong Peng, Johor. The simple event was attended by families, relatives, close acquaintances and journalist friends. Her eldest son Aisy Mateen was born on July 21, 2016, In an interview with Media Entertainment , Yana said her son’s name was chosen through the talks between her and her husband. The beauty of the name was made by Yana herself and her husband, who preferred the letter ‘A’ to the beginning of the name, while Mateen was from the name of God .

Previously, Yana had been dating actors Pierre Andre from 2004 to 2007.

Yana’s career on the big screen began in 2003 when she played the role of assistant in the comedy film Prof. Madya Abdul Razak Mohaideen , Mami Jarum Junior terbitan Metrowealth Movies Production.

In 2008, she began to occupy the seat of directorship through his maiden cinema , Selamat Pagi Cinta where he also wrote this movie script, then using his real name, Norliana Samsudin. Blockbuster romance starring Nur Alphard, Sharifah Amani, Que Haidar and Pierre Andre premiered on November 20, 2008. After Adnan Sempit , he once again worked under Idham’s directive through the movie Aku Masih Dara, which aired on December 16, 2010 where he played major characters as Aleesya, with Raja Farah and Diana Amir. In the same year, she acted in the romantic comedy film Strawberi Cinta , the order of Ahmad Rusli Khadri in which he held the character as a Japanese girl named Ichigo Yamada from Japan, was separated from his biological mother, Rozita (played) by Dian P. Ramlee ), since the age of six, the film he pairs with Pierre Andre also needs Yana to learn Japanese.

In 2016, she returned to the silver screen through a local Chinese film titled Happy Birth Death which aired on December 22, 2016.

Yana Samsudin and Fadzil Zahari take turns to care for son

“It’s not easy to find hired hand whom you can trust your little ones with while you go out to work,” said scriptwriter-actor Fadzil Zahari.

And because of this, together with his actress wife Yana Samsudin, had decided from the beginning to work around caring for their little one on their own.

Fadzil said that he and his wife were fortunate to have jobs which allowed them to take turns in caring for their son Aisy Mateen, 2.

“The flexibility that we have makes it possible to arrange our schedules in such a way that Aisy can be with either of one of us.

“When I have to be in the office, I do take my son with me. Sometimes I leave him with his toys, so that I’ll be able to focus on my work,” explained the 34-year-old brother of actor Datuk Farid Kamil who also runs an artiste management company.

He said this when commenting on the recent tragedy of five months’ old Adam Rayqal whose remains were found in his babysitter’s freezer.

“What happened to Adam Rayqal is beyond tragic. It’s also one of the reasons why we would never send our son to be cared by anyone else,” said Fadzil when met at Empire Film Solution’s Hari Raya open house at Dataran Karyawan Finas in Hulu Kelang recently.
