Prior to her time at THV11, Winnie was the South Georgia Bureau Chief for WCTV in Tallahassee, Florida. There, she covered seven counties across South Georgia and North Florida, without the luxuries of the newsroom. Including, the mysterious death of a South Georgia teen found dead in a rolled-up gym mat at his high school.

She has also reported for WCTV where she serves as the South Georgia MMJ. You can read also Matt Mauro. Most days she works out of the bureau in Valdosta, Georgia. Our coverage area in Georgia spans all the way from Tift County to the Florida/Georgia Line.
She shoots, edit, and front all of my own stories and go live in the field about three days a week. WCTV uses satellite backpacks for all live shots, so no photographer is needed. In a typical work week, she will work out of the bureau four days a week and spend one day a week in Tallahassee.
She enjoys covering politics, which makes Tallahassee a lot of fun during the legislative session. Some of the big stories I’ve covered in the past are the mysterious death of Valdosta teen, Kendrick Johnson, the ongoing contamination of waterways by sewage in South Georgia and North Florida, and also the happenings of Moody Air Force Base. Each day is a new adventure with new things to be learned and new people to be met!
