Willie is the football coach of the Baltimore Ravens who specializes in Running Backs. He joined the team in 2023.
He started his career with the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers as its Wide Receivers’ coach in 1999. Then he moved to be the QB coach the next year.
After many years of experience, Willie became the head coach of Hilltoppers in 2010. Since then, he changed various NCAAF teams as the head coach, from the Oregan Ducks to Florida State. He has a track record of 71 wins and 82 losses in his NCAA football coaching career.
As a former player, Taggart was a Quarterback in college and received the I-AA Independents’ Offensive Player of the Year in 1998. he also was a contender for the Walter Payton Award.

Willie first met Taneshia at his university
Willie had his first meeting with the Taneshia at Western Kentucky University.
Both studied at the same university and were a part of the student union group. Willie was a junior at that time, while Taneshia was a freshman. Willie also stated how he was mesmerized by her at first sight.
Willie made his move to talk with her by coming to contact with her roommate’s brother. Willie knew the person because he also played football.
So, he didn’t talk directly with her at first but talked with her roommate when she was nearby. Taneshia noticed him and said something about him, and her roommate later clarified that Taneshia had described his cute dimples.
After hearing that, Willie became ever more confident and humorously told how he would never forget to smile in front of her. Their relationship grew eventually, and they have been married for two decades.

Willie Taggart son Willie Jr is the eldest child who studies at Florida Atlantic University.
Like his dad, he shares a passion for football since he plays as the Quarterback for FAU. He has played 18 games in three seasons and made one rushing touchdown.
