After pleading guilty, the Cincinnati baseball player was sentenced to five months in the medium security prison camp at United States Penitentiary, Marion, Illinois. For his charges, the player was also fined fifty thousand dollars.
However, he was later released from prison on January 7, 1991. In order to get out of prison, the player needed to pay a total of three hundred and sixty-six thousand dollars in back taxes as well as interest. Further, the player was required to perform community service of 1000 hours.
