Melissa Kate Bumstead was arrested for importing steroids illegally.
It all began on September 1, 2021, when the U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials pulled out a package from Memphis, Tennessee for an extensive examination. The package was addressed to Bumstead in Palm City, Florida.
After a thorough examination, the officials discovered steroids and other prescription medication in the package. It contained anabolic steroid-type drugs, including testosterone propionate, drostanolone propionate and oxandrolone.
The detectives then disguised as delivery people and handed the package to Melissa. When she opened the parcel, it became evident that the substances indeed belonged to the bodybuilder.
Melissa Kate Bumstead now faces charges for six felony counts of possession of the controlled substances.
Nevertheless, she was released from the Martin County Jail on September 11, 2021. However, the details on the trial and bond amount is not released.
