CNN dismissed Lemon on April 24, 2023, according to a statement he sent on Twitter.
He said in his letter that the dismissal had surprised him and that network officials had not contacted him directly but had instead told him via his agent.
The New York Times reported that CNN had trouble finding guests ready to come on-air with Lemon, and surveys had revealed a fall in his favor with viewers.
CNN refuted Lemon’s claims that the network had not made an effort to contact him, stating that a meeting had been offered to him prior to his tweet.
Why was Don Lemon terminated?
Lemon has previously been charged with making insulting remarks about women on-air and, according to a Variety piece published last month, acting inappropriately among female network coworkers.
What is Don Lemon doing now?
He is not doing anything at the moment as he got fired today.
