James Dixon Australian rock musician “Jimmy” Barnes was born in Scotland.

Why is Jimmy Barnes so popular?

Australian rock and roll are embodied by Jimmy Barnes. His name conjures up the sounds of soul-stirring standards read in his distinctive style as well as ear-splitting rock classics.

In 1973, Barnes began an apprenticeship with the South Australian Railways in a foundry, but his passion for music and that of his brother inspired him to form a group.

Less than a month after the Cold Chisel Last Stand tour concluded in December 1983, Barnes began his solo career.

Jimmy Barnes has more solo number-one albums in Australia than any other musician with 15.

The release of Barnes’ 18th solo studio album, My Criminal Record, was confirmed in January 2019. On May 17, 2019, it was published.

Jimmy Barnes claimed to have started a rockabilly band in 2021 with Slim Jim Phantom and Chris Cheney.
