Steve Burton, who portrayed Jason Morgan on General Hospital, had been rumored to be departing the show recently. He may have even made a statement regarding the news.
The opera General Hospital has been on the market for a long time, and fans have adored the characters’ decades-long storylines.
There has been a slew of dramatic, romantic, and intriguing moments over the years that keep you captivated for weeks on end.
However, one star who has been with the show for 30 years may be leaving soon.
Why Is Jason Morgan Leaving General Hospital Again In 2021?
Even though nothing has been verified, there are hints that Steve’s character Jason Morgan will be written off of General Hospital.
After what appears to be a gunshot, Britt screams out Jason’s name in a trailer for the episode shared on YouTube.
Of course, for the time being, it’s unclear who was shot, if anyone was shot at all, and whether or not they would have died as a result of their injuries. Plus, the show’s creators have remained mum about what will happen next.
Steve, on the other hand, may have already confirmed his departure from the show. On his That’s Awesome podcast with Bradford Anderson, he stated that all of the information he knows on General Hospital is “irrelevant right now.”
Steve expressed concern about their upcoming comedy event, which could be because the jokes he had organized are based on information he would have acquired while working on the TV show.
Because Steve is no longer in “General Hospital,” probably, he doesn’t have access to new information. However, fans are still perplexed as to why he left the show in the first place. Is it the COVID-19 vaccine to blame?
Steve Burton Health Update
Steve Burton hasn’t indicated whether he’s had the vaccine yet, but he has previously had COVID-19. He said he was “exposed” to it at work in an August 2021 Instagram post but stated he was asymptomatic.
He claimed that he once took a test and received a negative result. But, to be safe, he took another test before one of his live gigs, and he came back positive.
Some fans have been contacting Steve via Twitter, hoping he will consider the vaccine if he hasn’t already. While some defend him, others argue that he should not be forced to take it and that no one should be able to tell another person what to do with their body.
@1SteveBurton I’ve been a big fan of yours since you began GH. There has been rumors that you may exit because of the vaccine mandate. Take it from someone who was very apprehensive but I’ve seen many of deaths & illnesses. Weigh the pros and cons & remember childhood vaccines.
