Brown has not released any reason behind her decision. However, people believe it is related to the ongoing Spotify controversy around Neil Young and Joe Rogan.
Spotify has come under fire as many artists are pressuring the audio streaming platform to remove Joe Rogan’s podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience. He shared misinformation about COVID-19 in the podcast, reports ABC.
This is coming after 270 medical professionals and scientists signed a letter in early January urging Spotify to take action against Joe. He has been accused of spreading false news on the podcast. The letter also called for Spotify to start a misinformation policy.
